TCD is typically seeking the following skill sets:

Job Description: General Labor employees will perform a variety of tasks in the traffic signal construction field. Ideal candidates will exhibit good working habits, show initiative, and possess the desire and willingness to be trained.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid CDL-A or CDL-B
  • Some experience in the underground construction and/or electrical field is preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
  • Job Description: We are seeking semi-skilled candidates for the position of Traffic Signal Technician I to perform technical work in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signal systems. This position will report directly to the Traffic Signal Tech II or Traffic Superintendent and will involve a variety of specialized tasks which will be reviewed while in progress as well as upon completion to ensure quality. Performance of emergency call duties are required.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with others.
  • Job Requirements
  • A minimum of 1-year experience in any traffic related field (may be substituted by a combination of related skills such as electrical experience, working in the roadways requiring traffic control, programming time clocks and/or working at heights in excess of 15 feet).
  • High School Diploma or GED (may be substituted by accredited vocational courses in electrical or construction fields).
  • IMSA Level I Certification in Traffic Signals or ability to obtain same within one (1) year of hire date.
  • Traffic Control Supervisor Certification or ability to obtain same within one (1) year of hire date.
  • Possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License with no more than 7 points.
  • Obtain a CDL-B Driver’s License within one (1) year of hire date.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to distinguish the range of color spectrum.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Job/Working Conditions
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work at heights over 15 feet.

  • Holding and Providing tools and supplies
  • Cleaning and organizing work areas and equipment
  • Measuring, cutting, and bending wire and conduit
  • Completing hands-on general labor duties.
  • Job Requirements
  • Must possess and maintain a valid CDL-A or B
  • A minimum of twelve (12) months of experience is preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
  • Job Description: This position will require working with a technician to obtain knowledge on the installation and troubleshooting of transportation systems. The transportation systems will include: copper cabling, fiber optic cable backbones, cameras, CCTV, digital message signs, vehicle detection systems, L2 and L3 switches, LAN/WAN, specialty software packages, IP configurations, etc.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid CDL
  • Extensive knowledge of electronics and networking
  • Can accurately read plans and specifications
  • Comfortable working outside in various climates
  • Ability to travel overnight if necessary
  • Job Description: We are seeking Certified Crane Operators preferably with a minimum of twelve (12) month's prior experience in the electrical field to operate mechanical boom and cable equipment to lift and move materials, machines, or products to install traffic signal lighting. Candidates exhibiting the ability and willingness to be trained will also be considered.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid CDL-A Driver’s License
  • Must be NCCCO certified and qualified on National Crane’s Rubber Tire Mount equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
